writeups to follow! I am finally bitten by the bug of Doing Things and having Too Many Projects
Current general list of projects I'm working on:
- music magic
- my music library management software. Fills the gap between my top-level organization strategy (physical vs digital, cds & vinyls & cassettes vs bandcamp, steam, itunes, soundcloud set mp3s, game rips, ....) and my downstream music server.
- expect a blog post at some point on my (navidrome + audiomuse + magic + local musicbrainz replica) setup. ex-youtube engineer writing NAS media library dedup / bulk tag-munge software that sysadmins desperately deserve.
- locally-driven music fingerprinting, with acoustID matching + musicbrainz recording-to-release bin packing. A local musicbrainz replica (~55GiB db with indices built, ~35GiB dataset) is pretty necessary for this
- Still a good bit to go in functionality before I feel it's fit for a proper release
- baking :)
- this website (soon-ish: audiomuse+liquidsoap+icecast + better web radio player/buffering)
I also poke around at Wayland desktop odds and ends when the occasion strikes me. I currently use niri with dms. Quickshell was a pretty good motivator for me to reimplement my parallax wallpaper scrolling as a shader using uvmaps to handle the texture scrolling, since that solution becomes pretty portable across Quickshell apps.
