I go by hecate (cantus, when a last name or disambiguator is necessary)! I am a creature residing in the pacific northwest, and am a general computer witch of a few varieties:

• I maintained & extended i3lock-color once upon a time
  • I've mucked a bit with writing a parallax wayland wallpaper daemon (admittedly, lazy software rendering).
• I was an SRE for the youtube CDN, and have worked with all varieties of bytes streaming, video transcoding, and pandemic scaling woes
• my main projects right now are all focused around SRE-scale archival organizing, music tagging and organizing, and media preservation (posts soon(tm))

I'm also a chronic migraine enjoyer sufferer and do a lot of baking. At some point, I'll throw together a recipes subsection.

this website is constructed using zola. I also host a radio (this is pretty WIP; I'm currently redoing my library-side management. I have some automated playlist-to-station pipelines set up, but I need to polish the web radio UI more for station switching etc, and just set up more playlists to export).

I'm currently using Caddy for most of my reverse proxying needs. I think that it unfortunately doesn't play the most nicely with the media streams, and I might need to switch just the ogg streams over to going through nginx? I dunno, some debugging needed, but it's a P2 for after I get the backend pipelines finished up.

all javascript on this website is optional (light/dark theme, particles background, and image lightboxing) and resides outside of the document body. localstorage is used to persist light/dark theme and mono/sans font state while surfing, as well as handle an over-18 check.
